Fallout, Interplay's unofficial sequel to Wasteland. Fallout is a post nuclear RPG where you are an inhabitant of Vault 13. A Vault is like a huge self-contained underground bunker built to shelter the inhabitants from the Great War. Your people has been living there for over seventy years. However, the supplies were not meant for so long. To make things worse, your water purifying chip has given up the ghost! And guess what? The Overseer (a jerk!!!) found that you are the most eligible to go out into the barren wasteland to look for a replacement. Armed with a knife and a 10 mm pistol, you are all ready to venture into the wasteland to face all the mutated creatures, the good guys and the bad guys, the mutants, the heart-ripping Deathclaws, and the mastermind behind the production of the super-mutants, the Master, or are you?

Fallout is the first RPG I played. I had never liked RPGs, but after playing Fallout, my opinions were totally changed. I now loved the versatility of RPGs, where every decision counts, where you can decide where to go and at what time. Fallout has all these!

In Fallout, you can create your own character with the stats that suits your playing needs. There are two types of stats that makes up a character, the SPECIAL stats (strength, perception, endurance, charisma, intelligence, agility and luck) which is basically your primary stats. The other is the skill stats, which is how good you are at the different skills, which includes the combat skills, repairing, science, gambling, lock picking, outdoorsman etc. The skill stats can be increased when you go up a level, when you attend courses or read books on it. The SPECIAL stats can only be increased temporarily by taking drugs, or later on by operations. There is also a bug which can increase your stats, but this will be included in the cheats section which will be up soon.

The weapons in Fallout has a real wide variety, but basically it comprises of five main types, mainly  Melee Weapons, Small Guns, Big Guns, Energy Weapons and Unarmed, which actually include hand-to-hand weapons. The most powerful weapon falls under the Energy Category, and that is the Alien Blaster. It is a small hand-held energy pistol which resembled twisted metal. It is able to reduce a Deathclaw to ashes with one shot! (the Deathclaw had over 200 H/P, and when i completed the game, i only had 90.) However, this is a random weapon, which means that it's location is not fixed, so I can't tell you where it is. Second is the Turbo Plasma Rifle, but if you want info on it, come back a few days later. The Weapon site should be up by then. There you find all the available information I have.

Fallout features great graphics. Though it is not in 3D, and thus not as dazzling as Diablo, the animations is really great. Depending on what weapon you use to kill the enemy, different animations will be shown. You used a sub-machine gun? Well, watch that ba*tard being shot to bits as the bullets pierced into his body, splattering blood and flesh. Or was it a flamer? Then that guy will burst into flame and run around in agony before falling into a charred heap. Or if these are too violent for you, you can always turn down the violence level at the preference menu. There, you can also toggle the language filter, which removes the "bad words" from the game.

Fallout is truly a great game, with great graphics, a good story line, and a variety of options. The game play is pretty realistic and smooth, though there is some little bugs. If you haven't got this game, get it now!!!
